A little about the person behind Pawsome Smiles Photos.
Based on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, Pawsome Smiles Photos captures the expressions, movement and little moments that make every dog and cat unique, whether photographed outdoors, at home or in a studio setting.
Hi, I’m Jana, the photographer behind Pawsome Smiles Photos.
Before becoming a pet photographer, I spent many years working as a graphic designer. My days were filled with images, colour, composition and visual storytelling. Photography gave me a new way to use those skills while spending more time with the animals I have always loved.
It began with photographing my own pets. I wanted to capture more than simply what they looked like. I wanted photographs that showed the expressions, habits and little quirks that made them feel so familiar to me.
That is still what I look for in every session. It might be a dog completely focused on a ball, a sudden burst of energy at the beach, a curious studio expression or the quiet way a pet looks at their person. These are often the moments that say the most.
My design background influences how I use light, colour, movement and composition, as well as how the finished photographs will work as artwork. The aim is to create portraits that feel true to your pet and look beautiful in your home.
Sessions are planned around each animal. Some pets are happiest running through a park or exploring the beach. Others are more comfortable at home or in a studio setting. There is time to settle in, take breaks and let their personality come through without expecting them to behave perfectly.
For me, the most rewarding part is helping you choose the portraits that feel most like your pet and seeing those photographs become artwork you can enjoy every day.
